Our Commitment to Honest Reviews
SAMReviews.com exists to help small and medium business owners make confident decisions about CRM software. Our readers trust us because we prioritize honesty and usefulness over affiliate commissions. This page explains exactly how we research, test, score, and maintain the content on this site.
How We Test CRM Products
We don’t rely on marketing materials, product brochures, or vendor-provided demos to review CRM software. Instead, we use each product ourselves before publishing any review.
Our testing process for every CRM review:
- We sign up for a free trial or request a demo of the product
- We use the CRM for at least four weeks of real, day-to-day work
- We test the core features a small business would actually use: contact management, pipeline tracking, email integration, reporting, and mobile access
- We evaluate how the product performs as data grows — a CRM that works with 10 contacts may struggle with 500
- We note any bugs, limitations, or friction encountered during real use
Where a four-week hands-on test is not possible (for enterprise-only CRMs, for example), we clearly state this in the review and rely on detailed vendor demos, interviews with current users, and published user reviews.
How We Score CRMs
We rate each CRM on a 5-star scale across six core dimensions:
- Features: Depth and breadth of functionality relevant to small business
- Ease of Use: How quickly a non-technical user can become productive
- Pricing Value: What you get for what you pay, compared to alternatives
- Customer Support: Responsiveness, quality, and availability of support channels
- Integrations: How well the CRM connects to tools small businesses already use
- Scalability: Whether the product can grow with a business
The final star rating reflects the average of these six scores, weighted toward what matters most for small and medium business buyers.
How We Handle Recommendations
We do not claim that any single CRM is best for every business. Our reviews, comparisons, and best-of lists clearly state who each product is best suited for — and equally important, who should avoid it.
When we recommend a product, it is because we believe it genuinely serves the reader’s needs based on our testing. When we do not recommend a product, we say so plainly and explain why.
How We Update Our Content
CRM products change constantly — features are added, pricing changes, interfaces are redesigned. Outdated reviews are misleading, so we take content freshness seriously.
- We review and update every article at least once every six months
- We update immediately when a product makes significant pricing or feature changes
- Every article displays a “Last updated” date at the top
- Major updates are flagged at the top of the article
Affiliate Relationships and Editorial Independence
SAMReviews.com earns affiliate commissions from some of the products we review. These relationships are disclosed on every review page and in our full Affiliate Disclosure.
However, affiliate relationships have no influence on our editorial decisions:
- No CRM vendor pays for a positive review
- No CRM vendor pays for a higher ranking
- No CRM vendor reviews or approves our content before publication
- Products we cannot recommend are reviewed honestly, even if they offer generous affiliate commissions
If a conflict of interest ever arises — for example, if we receive a product for free to review — we disclose it clearly within that article.
Author Credentials
Reviews and articles on samreviews.com are written by Shajeer A M, a small business owner who spent years using CRM software before starting this site to help others navigate the same decisions. Each article includes an author byline and publication date.
